You can find the Buckinbah property situated on the edge of town, where today you will find the ruins of Banjo Patersons homestead, and it was here he met many of the bush characters and experiences that he wrote about later in life.

To this day Yeoval folk keep retelling Banjo Paterson tales and anecdotes, with a yearly celebration of the life of Banjo Paterson in Yeoval called the, Yeoval Mulga Bill Bicycle Festival held on the last weekend in July with street parade, the mulga bill bicycle rides, markets, vintage cars, musical entertainment and much more.

Yeoval is on the doorstep of the Goobang National Park, with picnic and camping areas and many walking trails.

Glorying under the label of the 'greatest little town in the west', Yeoval lies at the centre of the Dubbo-Wellington-Parks triangle on the NSW western plains. Dubbo's Western Plains Zoo, about 60km north of town, is one of the worlds very best zoos. Set on more than 300ha of grass and woodland, the zoo is home to more than 1000 animals of 100 species from throughout the world, including Australias only African elephant herd and endangered species such as the black rhinoceros and the greater bilby.
